Service Opportunities
February 2011
ACOLYTES
Looking for a way to serve the
Lord? How about becoming
an ACOLYTE?
<>What is an ACOLYTE?
It is
more than just lighting candles. Think of performing acolyte duties as
having court-side seats at your favorite sporting event.... All middle
school and high school age youth have the
<> opportunity to wear
really cool clothes, all the while assisting Pastor with the worship
service. Performing acolyte duties is a very spiritually fulfilling
opportunity and all youth are encouraged to participate. By actively
participating, your perspective on worshiprship could be altered
dramatically forever.
We are also looking for adults to
serve as acolytes. All acolytes will be assigned to serve on a rotating
schedule. No experience is needed. Our goal is to have acolytes serving
at all services. Adults and youth will be trained on Sunday, February 6
after the first service, at 9:15 am. Please see Pastor if you need more
information.
LUTHERAN
SUMMER MUSIC
Redeemer is sponsoring a
student to attend the
Lutheran Summer Music program again this year. This program, held at
Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, is a 4 week opportunity to study with
other Lutheran students from across the country. There is a designated
fund established for donations to this marvelous program.
Please prayerfully consider supporting this program to build musicians
within the church. If you are interested in donating, please mark your
envelopes with "LSM" or "Lutheran Summer Music."
CONCORDIA

Spring. They will be in our area and Redeemer is hosting them in
concert on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.
Things to do:
1.
Tell family, friends and others about this concert and invite them to
attend
2. Come to
the concert and enjoy an evening of uplifting music and praise!
3. We are
looking for host families to provide sleep-over accommodations for the
choir and staff, (includes taking them home for the night,
providing breakfast and bringing
them back to church in the morning to continue their bus tour to the
next location.)
There will be a sign-up sheet in the Narthex soon with more details;
please consider being a host for these college students and staff.
GABRIEL SINGERS
The children's choir will practice on Saturdays at 6:00 pm.
After practice, the members enjoy a short activity together. Come and
join Mrs. Thieme and myself to use our voices and hands to praise God
with joyful noise!
