Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)

My family is extremely happy spring is here in the Pacific Northwest. Don’t get me wrong. We love snow in the winter time. We love sledding, snow ball fights and snow ice cream.  However, we also enjoy spring and summer days of fishing, swimming, gardening and picnics in the warm sunshine.

Christians also love to celebrate different seasons.  Currently we celebrate this Lenten season by gathering together Wednesday evenings with soup suppers and worship services.  We hear about the life of Christ, His ministry, His death, and His resurrection. God wants us to share the message of Christ with a world that needs to hear of God's love and plan of salvation.

There are people suffering all over the world due to natural disasters that have made living their everyday lives seem impossible. Countries such as Japan, China, Haiti, and America; the list goes on and on. They need many things to make their lives better.  God wants us to share our resources with those in need in thanksgiving to Him for all He has done for us.

There are many ways we can share God's love and our resources.  Maybe your WA-AK LWML zone is collecting “Gifts from the Heart” for the LWML Convention in Peoria.   If so, you can share a short story and a photo that captures “The Faces of LWML” and send it to the LWML Human Care Committee and the WA-AK website. You can continue to support missions with your monthly mite donations.  Watch for information for the fall district retreat “GPS-Going Places with the Savior” and the event of the biennium, district convention “Follow Jesus…Walk The Path!”  These events will give you an opportunity to share God's love with fellow sisters in Christ and to give of your time, talents, and treasures in many exciting ways.  See you there!

As servants of God through the LWML we must keep our eyes focused on where we are going. Look to the place, heaven. Look to the person, Jesus, who is taking us there. Look to the Holy Spirit who will support, guide and direct us on the path. “Stay focused, follow Jesus…walk the path!”

God bless you as you continue to serve Him through the LWML.  Have a blessed Easter.

Serving Him together,

MaryLynn Huntwork
